Description of the 1/20 oz Australian Lunar Year of the Dragon 2024 Gold Coin - 24h Shipping!

The 1/20 oz Australian Lunar Year of the Dragon 2024 Gold Coin - 24h Shipping! is the fifth release in the Lunar III series. This lunar series, produced by the Perth Mint, refers to the 12 animals featured in the Chinese zodiac calendar. Previous releases were: Year of the Mouse 2020, Year of the Ox 2021, Year of the Tiger 2022, and Year of the Rabbit 2023. This time it will be the Year of the Dragon, which according to legends is a majestic, sky-wandering beast, appearing in rivers, lakes, and oceans. It is a highly valued symbol in Chinese culture.

The richly decorated coin is legal tender. Each bullion coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule.

Appearance of the 1/20 oz Australian Lunar Year of the Dragon 2024 Gold Coin - 24h Shipping!

The reverse of the coin features an impressive dragon against a stylized mist background. Carefully engraved waves can be seen at the bottom. The Chinese character for dragon and the inscription DRAGON 2024 also appear. The P125 mint mark signifies the 125th anniversary of The Perth Mint.

The obverse features the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, complemented by the period of her reign (1952-2022), as well as the weight, purity, and denomination of the coin. This portrait was created by Ian Rank-Broadley.

Historical Background

The Chinese calendar is a lunisolar calendar. It is divided into 60-year cycles, consisting of years assigned to 12 animals, appearing in 5 elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water). You can refer to the Chinese calendar to check your traits according to your birth year and the assigned animal. People born in the years 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, 1964, 1952, 1940, 1928, 1916 belong to the sign of the dragon. The next people under this sign will be born in 2024. These people are characterized by wit and are well-liked in their environment. This may be due to the fact that dragons are naturally free spirits. Any restrictions can extinguish the flame dormant in their soul. This, in turn, when kindled, can unleash enormous creativity. People under the sign of the Dragon are intelligent and charismatic. They are brave, hardworking, and optimistic about the future. They are usually individualists but often with great personal charm, which makes it easy for them to win over others. They often stand out from the crowd.

On the other hand, people under the sign of the Dragon may be characterized by impatience or quarrelsomeness. This is because these people know what they want and find it difficult to give it up. They demand a lot from themselves, but also from others. They are often ambitious, sometimes excessively. Interestingly, professions in which people under the sign of the Dragon should excel include lawyer, IT specialist, psychiatrist, engineer, or architect.

In principle, the Chinese Dragon focuses more on a professional career than on starting a family or emotional life. However, beware, as it is easy to fall in love with them!

The other animals of the Chinese calendar are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.
