Appearance of the 2024 $20 Dancing Ammolite: Elements of Nature "Air" - Pure Silver Coin - 24h Shipping!
This is truly an extraordinary piece. In the center of the coin is a multicolored ammolite, set in a three-dimensional gold-plated frame created by Canadian manufacturer Beverly Hills Jewellers. The reverse was designed by Vancouver artist Mariya Olshevska. Enhanced with selective gold plating, the stone presents a series of line patterns that visually convey movement and evoke a sense of ever-changing wind. The colorful ammolite shimmers with many hues, symbolizing the energy of air.
The obverse features the image of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt and has a special mark containing four pearls symbolizing the four portraits of the Queen that adorned Canadian coins, as well as the double date of the Queen's reign.
Historical Background
Ammolite is the official gemstone of the province of Alberta. It is ethically mined from the Bearpaw geological formation in this province, which is the only place in the world where commercial quantities of high-quality jewelry-grade ammolite are found. Practitioners of the ancient practice of Feng Shui believe that ammolite carries positive cosmic energy (Qi) absorbed from the world and that its yellowish rays are a lucky color for wealth.
Manufacturer
With Canada's growing independence from the United Kingdom, the need for minting its own coins also increased. Therefore, in 1908, the Royal Canadian Mint was established and has since become one of the most important mints in the world. To date, all coins from the Royal Canadian Mint bear the portrait of the reigning British monarch. The Mint's shares are held in trust for the Crown of Canada. The Mint produces all Canadian circulation coins and is involved in the design and production of collector coins made of precious metals - gold, silver, palladium, and platinum bullion coins, medals, as well as medallions and tokens. It also offers gold and silver refining services. Today, the Royal Canadian Mint sets standards in minting technology and numismatic design, reflecting its position and reputation.
