The reverse of the coin features a snow crystal. It shimmers in the light, an effect similar to the sparkling of snowflakes when reflecting sunlight. The transparent crystal in the center adds a touch of winter sparkle and luxury to the entire composition.

The obverse features the image of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The design also includes a special mark containing four pearls symbolizing the four portraits of the Queen that adorned Canadian coins throughout her reign, as well as the dates of her rule.
