Historical Background

When Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953, the entrances to Westminster Abbey were guarded by 10 beasts – statues created specifically for the occasion by James Woodford, inspired by the Beasts of King Henry VIII.

The 6-foot-tall beasts symbolized the heritage and history that Queen Elizabeth II inherited that day and from which the royal lineage derives.

The "Queen's Beasts" coin series commemorates this exceptional event and appreciates the magnificent artistic work full of symbols and meanings.

It is one of the most popular coin series in history and a must-have for every collection.

Each coin in this series depicts one of the ten beasts associated with the royal Tudor family, which for centuries have adorned castles and palaces, serving as elements of royal heraldry.

The Royal Tudor Beasts series was designed with collectors and investors in mind, combining artistic execution with historical significance. Each coin is made of the highest quality silver or gold and features extremely detailed designs. The obverses of the coins often depict the current monarch, while the reverses show various heraldic beasts, such as the Lion of England, the Unicorn of Scotland, the Tudor Dragon, or the Bull of Clarence. Each of these beasts has its unique meaning and history, linked to the legends and historical events of England.
