The Chinese Panda is a bullion coin with a 40-year tradition. The first issue was in 1983. Initially, they were minted with a fineness of 900, and since 1989, the highest fineness of 999 silver has been used.
Moreover, it is one of the few bullion coins that changes its design every year. Since the first issue, we can admire a new reverse every year. The exceptions are the years 2001 and 2002, when the design was frozen. However, this was not well received by the market, and from 2003, the annual design change was resumed.
The reverse of the coin changes its appearance every year, but it always features the image of at least one panda in its natural habitat.
The obverse has consistently, since the first issue, depicted the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The rim features a Chinese inscription meaning the People's Republic of China, as well as the year of minting.
The reverse changes depending on the year of minting. Coins are allocated randomly.
