Appearance of the 1 oz Canadian Silver Lynx Predator Series Coin - 24h Shipping!
The obverse of the coin features the profile of Queen Elizabeth II, created by Susanna Blunt. This 2003 image is surrounded by the engraving of her name, the coin's denomination, the phrase "D.G. Regina," and the year of issue.
The reverse of the coin features a brand new lynx design by Emily Damstra. It depicts the elusive, medium-sized wild cat in a dynamic pose – attacking one of the predator's potential prey. The majestic and energetic capture of the cat in this position makes a strong impression. The engraved information on the reverse of the coin also includes the country of issue, metal purity, metal content, and coin weight.
Historical Background
Emily Damstra designed all the images used on the silver coins of the "Predator" series from the Royal Canadian Mint. She began creating coins for the Royal Canadian Mint in 2013 when she took over the design from the "Canadian Wildlife Series." Her works are full of dynamism and fully capture the character of each animal she depicts.
Manufacturer
With Canada's growing independence from the United Kingdom, the need to mint its own coins also increased. Therefore, in 1908, the Royal Canadian Mint was established and has since become one of the most important mints in the world. However, to this day, all coins from the Royal Canadian Mint bear the portrait of the reigning British monarch.
The mint produces all Canadian circulation coins and is involved in designing and manufacturing collector coins from precious metals - gold, silver, palladium, and platinum bullion coins, medals, as well as medallions and tokens. It also offers gold and silver refining services.
Today, the Royal Canadian Mint sets standards in the field of minting technology and numismatic design, which attests to its position and reputation.
