The set aims to commemorate the 125th anniversary of The Perth Mint. It contains four 1 oz silver coins. Each is adorned with intricate designs reflecting the mint's heritage and achievements. On the occasion of this milestone year, the coin designs reflect the mint's most famous contemporary series, depicting the kangaroo, kookaburra, and koala. The animals are shown among Australian vegetation. This collection reflects the mint's long-standing excellence in coin production, combining historical respect with modern craftsmanship, making it a valuable keepsake for enthusiasts worldwide.
The design refers to the rich history of the mint. The obverse features the image of His Majesty King Charles III along with the monetary denomination. The reverse design is the same for all coins and depicts a kangaroo, koala, and kookaburra shown among rich vegetation. However, despite the consistent design, each of these four coins has a different finish: 1) proof – flawless surface with matte elements, 2) gilded – surface with selective 24-carat gilding, 3) proof coloured – polished surface with coloured elements, 4) bullion – with a matte surface and shiny motifs.
The entire collection is housed in an elegant package with a transparent lid, adorned with The Perth Mint logo. A numbered certificate of authenticity is included with the collection. No more than 2500 copies of this collection are available on the market.
