The collector's coin with a denomination of 200 zloty was issued by the National Bank of Poland as part of a series commemorating outstanding figures of Polish culture. Dedicated to Cyprian Norwid – a poet, playwright, essayist, graphic artist, and thinker – it commemorates one of the most important and original figures of Polish Romanticism. Norwid, unappreciated during his lifetime, gained recognition only after his death, and his work became an inspiration for subsequent generations of artists and intellectuals. The issue aims not only to pay tribute to his literary and artistic achievements but also to remind of his contribution to the development of Polish cultural identity. The coin is a valuable collector's item and a carrier of memory about the work and life of one of the most outstanding representatives of Polish literature.
The numismatic piece is made of gold, characterized by elegant, refined design. The reverse of the coin features a striking portrait of Cyprian Norwid, depicted with flowing hair and a serious, focused gaze. Above his head is the inscription CYPRIAN NORWID, written in a decorative font, and on the right side are the dates indicating the year of his birth and death. The portrait, as well as the entire composition of the reverse, is maintained in a realistic style, emphasizing the character of the figure. The main element of the obverse is the figure of an older man with a beard, bent over and leaning on a cane – an allegorical representation of Cyprian Norwid. At the bottom of the coin, against the background of the figure, are his ornately written initials. There is also the emblem of the Republic of Poland, as well as the year of minting and its denomination. The issue combines national elements with an artistic tribute to one of the most outstanding figures of Polish culture, presenting both historical and numismatic value.

By issuing this coin, the central bank not only celebrated Norwid's anniversary but also contributed to the dissemination of his achievements among future generations.
