Issued by the country of Antigua and Barbuda, the coin is the first of eight editions in this historical series with a low mintage and rich design. The collection consists of four coins minted in 2018 on behalf of each of the following eight Caribbean representatives: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The coins produced and distributed by Scottsdale Mint are legal tender in the territories of these eight countries, which form the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.
The reverse features an 18th-century pirate ship setting sail after taking one of the world's finest rums from Antigua and Barbuda.

The distillate, a clear liquid, is then stored in oak barrels, and the final product is the sought-after Caribbean rum worldwide.
