Description of the 2024 $50 De Beers Ideal Cushion Diamond - Pure Silver Diamond-Shaped Coin - 24h Shipping!

This classic, cushion-like shape is one of the oldest among diamond shapes and is highly sought after for its timeless beauty and sparkle. It inspired the creation of this unique 999 pure silver coin, which is the fourth in a series of diamond-shaped coins topped with a diamond. Each piece has been masterfully sculpted to perfectly capture the patented cut of a 0.23-carat De Beers Ideal Cushion Cut Diamond, set on one of its peaks.

The mintage of the coin is only 600 pieces, making it a truly exceptional addition to any collection.

The coin is unique due to its distinctive shape and multifaceted design, recreated from the patented diamond cut pattern by Crossworks Manufacturing, known for Ideal De Beers diamonds. A 0.23-carat De Beers Ideal Cushion Cut Diamond is placed at one of the main peaks of the crown. Additionally, this coin features a piece of Canadian mining history, as the diamond comes from one of the country's most prominent diamond mines. The year 2024 is engraved on another main peak of the crown, and the largest surface features the inscription CANADA, the denomination 50 DOLLARS, and the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Additionally, the obverse has a special mark containing four pearls symbolizing the four portraits of the Queen that adorned Canadian coins, along with the double date of the monarch's reign.

Historical Background

De Beers diamonds are not only some of the most recognizable but also the most valued gems in the world. They are renowned for their unparalleled quality, exceptional brilliance, and rich history that dates back many years. De Beers plays a key role in the global jewelry industry as one of the leading diamond producers. The company's history began in 1888 when Cecil Rhodes and Barnett Barnato founded the enterprise, which quickly dominated the global diamond market, controlling most of the production. Through innovative marketing, they contributed to the rise in popularity of diamonds, promoting them as symbols of luxury and love. They stand out not only for their unique quality but also for their careful selection, making them highly sought after in the market.

The company controls the entire diamond production process - from mining in the mines, through processing, to creating finished jewelry.

Manufacturer

With Canada's growing independence from the United Kingdom, the need for minting its own coins also increased. Therefore, in 1908, the Royal Canadian Mint was established and has since become one of the most important mints in the world. To this day, all coins from the Royal Canadian Mint bear the portrait of the reigning British monarch. The Mint's shares are held in trust for the Crown of Canada. The Mint produces all Canadian circulation coins and is involved in designing and crafting collector coins from precious metals - gold, silver, palladium, and platinum bullion coins, medals, as well as medallions and tokens. It also offers gold and silver refining services. Today, the Royal Canadian Mint sets standards in minting technology and numismatic design, reflecting its position and reputation.
