This is the fourth collector's coin from the series of unmasking soldiers - victims of communism. The entire collection of these coins is a tribute to bold soldiers who gave their lives in the fight in the Polish post-war independence underground, facing the Soviet occupation and the communist regime. The main purpose of introducing this coin series is to restore the memory of outstanding characters whose heroic contribution to the fight for Poland's independence deserves to be commemoration. Coins are to make the memory of our heroes will never pass away.

Historic
Feliks Selmanowicz, or "Zagończyk", was born on June 6, 1904 in Vilnius. His residents include a number of unusual events. After the Polish-Bolshevik war, he worked in an area controlled by the militia of the neutral belt. During World War II, he was a soldier of the Vilnius Brigade of the Home Army and was awarded the Cross of a Valine. After coinciding from Soviet transport in Vilnius, he took part in combat activities. He was arrested by the Soviets and condemned to death, but he escaped from German transport. During the post-war period, Selmanowicz was an active participant in the fight against the communist regime. The interned after disarming by the Soviets, escaped and returned to Poland where he joined the conspiracy activities. Arrested and brutally interrogated by UB, was sentenced to death in Gdańsk prison together with the paramedic Danuta Siezikówna, operating under the pseudonym "Inka". Their last words were: "Let Poland live!".
