The reverse of the coin features the reverse of the Kraków grosz of Casimir the Great with the image of a white eagle in a crown and the inscription "+GROSSI CRACOVIENSES". In the background, a fragment of the Wawel Cathedral door with King Casimir's monogram is visible. The obverse of the coin shows the obverse of the Kraków grosz with a royal crown and the inscription "+KAZIMIRVS PRIMVS/+DEI GRACIA REX POLONIE". In the background, there is an image of Casimir the Great holding a model of the Wiślica collegiate church.
Historical significance
The Kraków grosz, introduced by Casimir the Great around 1367, was the first Polish grosz coin modeled on the Prague grosz.
