How much does a diamond cost?
The price of diamonds is determined based on the 4C principle, meaning that all four key parameters of the stone are taken into account. The most expensive are colorless diamonds marked with the letters D E F. In terms of clarity, the most valuable varieties are those labeled FL / IF / LC. Of course, the price is also influenced by the cut (e.g., EX – excellent cut) and, naturally, the weight expressed in grams and converted into carats. Therefore, determining the value of a particular diamond is not easy, and before purchasing, it is necessary to carefully review its specifications.

The value of diamonds converted into grams and carats
It is worth knowing that one carat (1 ct) equals 0.2 grams. Moreover, a carat is divided into 100 points, which means that a diamond with, for example, 50 points will weigh 0.50 ct, corresponding to a weight of 0.1 grams. A one-carat diamond of good clarity grade can cost well above PLN 20,000. The market price per carat can also increase from around USD 5,000 to USD 10,000 or more, depending on the rarity and quality of a larger stone. How much, then, could a one-gram diamond, that is, a five-carat diamond, cost? Even PLN 200,000!
